Contact us if you are interested in our test. We will send you our blood collection set with our order form enclosed.
- The liquid biopsy Metavectum Tumortest requires 50 ml of your blood (taken with our blood collection set).
- For certain tumors (prostate, kidney, bladder cancer) additional 200 ml of urine are required (Suitable containers are enclosed).
- The Metavectum Tumor Test can also be performed with paraffin-embedded tissue (FFPE) or fresh tissue stored on dry ice (-80 °C). We can not work with microscopy slides.
- For the metabolomic analysis we additionally need approx. 20 ml of urine in the provided plastic container.
The blood collection can be done by any physician, but for your treatment your oncologist should be involved. To prevent unwanted changes the blood samples should arrive at our laboratory within 24 hours. If this is not reasonably possible, 48 hours are still acceptable. Due to the time-consuming and laborious processing we need the blood samples weekdays before 12 noon. Submissions outside the EU should be sent on Mondays or Tuesdays. The form ‘Order form Molecular Oncology’ needs to be filled in and in particular, it must be signed. Please inform us at least three working days in advance about scheduled blood drawings and the transportation modalities of sample shipments (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you have clinical reports/your case history please include them with your sample shipment. There should be at least 10-14 days between blood drawing for the test and your last chemotherapy or surgery. Otherwise, the results could be distorted. Since many medications can influence gene expression, we would also ask you to indicate the medications you are currently taking. You do not need to be fasting for the blood draw.
iQMedix can perform the tumor test with blood (liquid biopsy) as well as with tissue samples. The advantage of liquid biopsy is the minimal invasiveness (blood sampling) and the often more recent samples, in contrast to conventional biopsy.
For our analysis, interpretation and reporting we require approx. 3 weeks.
